At the NYU Langone Fertility Center, we understand the challenges that can come with building a family. Since 1992, we’ve helped tens of thousands of individuals and couples to have children on their own timetables, using the newest and most advanced fertility treatments. Our primary areas of expertise include in vitro fertilization, also known as IVF, and egg freezing, also called oocyte cryopreservation.

VIDEO: Reproductive endocrinologist Dr. James A. Grifo, director of NYU Langone Fertility Center, discusses the treatment process, research efforts, and patient education.

The Fertility Center has partnered with Prelude Fertility to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered fertility care. Our team—including board-certified reproductive endocrinologists and infertility specialists, nurses, and lab professionals—focuses solely on the needs of people dealing with fertility-related issues, questions, or concerns.

Egg Freezing

For more than 10 years, NYU Langone Fertility Center has been helping women preserve their fertility through egg freezing.

Learn More About Egg Freezing

The pregnancy rates we achieve using traditional fertility-enhancing treatments such as IVF are just one measure of our success. We are also world leaders in egg freezing, having performed more than 3,000 freezing and 300 thawing procedures to date, resulting in more than 200 live births. More detailed information on our pregnancy rates is available from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).

Our physicians pioneered the technologies used for preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and preimplantation genetic screening (PGS), testing that decreases the risk of miscarriage. We help people who are being treated for cancer and cancer survivors to preserve their fertility where possible and provide access to treatment alternatives such as gestational carriers and donor eggs and sperm. The Fertility Center has received the Hope Award for Achievement from RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.

Our team focuses solely on the needs of people dealing with fertility-related issues, questions, or concerns.

We are committed to developing innovative approaches to achieving pregnancy and preserving fertility and welcome a diverse group of patients, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. No matter where you are on the journey toward building a family, the doctors and staff at the Fertility Center want to help you to realize your dreams.

Prepare for Your Visit

If you have been trying to conceive for six months or longer without success, or are thinking about egg freezing, we invite you to schedule an initial consultation with one of our specialists.

Please plan to bring any pertinent medical records to your first visit. For instance, if you have already had blood testing or a hysterosalpingogram, which is an X-ray used to screen for problems within the uterus or fallopian tubes, please bring those test results to the consultation. Our fertility experts determine whether additional fertility testing is needed and develop a treatment plan best suited to your particular situation. Once treatment begins, morning monitoring visits are by appointment only.

When you visit our facilities, masks are not required for patients or staff unless the patient is immunocompromised or has a cough. We continue to monitor developments regarding COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, and guidance is subject to change.

Please also be aware that for the comfort of all patients, children are not permitted to accompany adults to Fertility Center locations.
