Assisted Hatching
When indicated, our skilled embryologists are able to use assisted hatching to help the embryo emerge from its outer covering, improving the chances for implantation and pregnancy. This sophisticated technique involves creating a breach in the zona pellicuda (outer shell of the embryo) in an effort to enhance the embryo’s ability to implant in the uterus after the embryo transfer.
Indications for the use of assisted hatching include a prior failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle, advanced maternal age and suboptimal embryo quality.
