Dr. Fino Chosen for Fertility Advisory Committee of the Lance Armstrong Foundation
December 07, 2009
NYU Fertility Center is proud to announce that Dr. M. Elizabeth Fino has been chosen to participate in the Fertility Advisory Committee of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This committee was created after Fertile Hope was acquired by the Lance Armstrong Foundation in July, 2009. Fertile Hope, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing reproductive information, support and hope to cancer patients and survivors, joined forces with the LAF in effort to address one of the top young adult cancer survivorship concerns-fertility preservation.
The entire NYU Fertility Center team is dedicated to offering fertility preservation to patients undergoing treatments which may render them infertile. NYU is at the forefront of oocyte cryopreservation, an important option in fertility preservation. Dr. Noyes and Dr. Grifo, the co-directors of the occyte cropreservation program are dedicated to making oocyte cryopreservation available to cancer patients in a timlely and cost-effective manner.
Fertile Hope has a successful track record of implementing high-impact, cost-effective programs that have changed both the cancer and fertility worlds for the better, including increased awareness and education, improved informed consent, fertility preservation financial assistance and one-on-one support. Dr. Fino looks forward to working with Fertile Hope and the LAF to fulfill their mission and meet the reproductive needs of cancer patients and survivors going forward.
