Dr. Jamie Grifo spoke on CNN American Morning with John Roberts regarding the Morell family, whose embryos were transferred to the wrong couple. John interviewed them about their new book Misconception, which tells their complicated story. In the interview,  Dr. Grifo explained how errors in embryo transfer are rare; only three have been documented in the world while millions of embryo transfers have occurred over the past 25 years.

NYU Fertility Center has never had such an error despite more than 15,000 embryo transfers. Dr. Grifo explained the elaborate standard operating procedure at NYU Fertility Center that does not allow human error to place patients at risk for such a devastating outcome. He spoke about the procedures in the lab and in practice which assure patients and caregivers that the proper embryos are being used.
