Dr. Jamie Grifo Discusses a New Genomics Technique that may Help Women Struggling with Recurrent Miscarriage
January 24, 2012
Couples who experience recurrent miscarriages may find hope in a new genetic screening technique that identifies embryos unlikely to survive a pregnancy. A recent study of couples with a history of miscarriages led by James Grifo, MD, PhD, used array comparative genome hybridization (array CGH) to substantially reduce miscarriage rates from 35 percent to 6 percent. The technique is discussed in the Winter 2012 issue of NYU Physician.
